Nexus

A repository, a name, and nothing else. Created in June 2026 and never given a first commit.

CREATED JUN 16, 2026 · UPDATED JUN 16, 2026

CAUSE OF DEATH

Never received a commit. The idea — some central hub joining the other projects together — did not survive the walk from naming it to opening an editor, and creating the repository had already delivered the entire feeling of having started.

PROBLEM

Nothing recorded. The name was chosen before the problem was.

HYPOTHESIS

Unstated, which is the whole autopsy. A hypothesis written down on day one is a thing you can later be wrong about; one that stays in your head just evaporates.

RESULT

Zero commits, zero files, one default branch that does not exist. It is listed here because an empty repository is still an answer to 'what happened to that', and a lab that only shows the repositories with something in them is a portfolio wearing a lab's clothes.

LEARNINGS

  • Naming a project is not starting it, and the satisfaction of naming it is what stops you starting it.
  • If the first commit does not happen the same day, it usually does not happen.
  • Keeping the empty repo is more useful than deleting it — it is the cheapest possible record of an idea that did not hold up.
