Work

By day I build agentic products and platforms at Kainos, mostly for Workday, and lead the people who build them with me. This page says what each piece is and what my part in it was. It does not say who the customers are or how anything is built inside, and it never will.

Everything I build on my own time is in the lab. The longer version of who I am is on about and at acker.cloud.

  1. IN PRODUCTIONArchitect, lead builder, owner

    Product acceleration platform

A full-stack platform for building and shipping Workday products faster, designed agent-first: the UI, an API, a CLI and an MCP server all drive the same thing.

The bottleneck in product work around Workday is rarely the idea. It is the distance between the idea and something a customer can run, and most of that distance is repeated scaffolding, configuration and deployment.

This platform closes that distance. It is built agent-first, which means anything a person can do in the interface is also available over an API, from a command line and through an MCP server, so a person, a script and a model all work it the same way and none of them is a second-class citizen.

It is in production. The specifics stay internal; the shape is the part worth publishing: if you design for the agent from the first commit, the human interface gets better too, because both are forced through the same well-defined operations.

  2. INTERNAL

    Internal enablement plane

One internal platform with agentic capabilities across everything a delivery team reaches for: knowledge, learning, everyday tools, sales enablement and customer profiles.

Consultancies leak knowledge. The answer to a question usually exists somewhere, in a document, a ticket or a colleague's head, and finding it costs more than reinventing it.

The enablement plane puts the places people look into one surface with agents on top, so a question gets an answer with its source rather than a search result to read.

    Knowledge Engine
A vector database over the practice's own material, so an agent answers from what the team actually knows instead of pattern-matching public documentation.
    Learning Center
Structured enablement for consultants, in the same place as the knowledge it teaches.
    Toolkit
The small utilities people otherwise hunt for on the open web: photo editing, chart generation, Base64 encode and decode.
    Sales Enablement
What the sales side needs to describe the offerings accurately, drawn from the same source of truth as delivery.
    Customer Profile
One view of a customer across the systems that each hold a piece of it.

    Workday development acceleration

Faster technical delivery across Workday Extend, Integrations and Prism Analytics: the patterns, tooling and automation that turn bespoke builds into repeatable ones.

Most Workday technical work is a variation on something that has been built before. The work here is making that explicit: capturing the variations as patterns and tooling, so the next build starts from the last one instead of from a blank tenant.

It spans Extend apps, integrations and Prism Analytics, and the same principle that runs through the rest of this site applies: specify it, generate it, validate it, then deploy it, with a machine checking each step.

  4. BUILDINGProduct owner

    ServiceNow and Jira agentic accelerators

Agentic accelerators for ServiceNow and Jira, owned as products: what they do, who they are for, and what ships next.

Service management and delivery tracking are where a lot of a consultancy's real work is recorded, and where a lot of it waits for someone to triage, route and summarise it.

These accelerators put agents on that work inside the tools teams already live in. The role is product owner: the roadmap, the priorities, and the call on what is good enough to ship.

  5. BUILDINGCo-developer

    Storefront

A storefront for productized offerings, so customers can see what can be bought as a defined product rather than scoped from scratch every time.

Services are hard to buy when every engagement starts as a blank statement of work. The storefront turns repeatable offerings into defined products with a name and a scope, and puts them where customers already are.
